[Actors as rugby players] Don Gibb for Adam Rhys Jones
July 29, 2010 No CommentsWe’ve started a new sub-section to look into the actors who could be convincing as rugby players.
Rather than strick look-a-like, we take the following parameters into consideration
- Physique
- Background
- Attitude
AND, generally - How convincing an actor the guy would be playing the other guy
1. Don Gibb for Adam Rhys Jones
If you don’t recognise the name, do not assume Donald Gibb is a lost Bee Gees brother.
He’s an actor that came to prominence in Revenge of the Nerds and co-starred in BloodSport with Jean Claude Van Damme. He also had minor roles in a raft of other movies like Stripes and US Marshalls.
Gibb is 6ft 4in, 4 inches taller than Jones but he has the right attitude and in another life he could have made an excellent prop – Imagine him and Karl Hayman propping the scrum …
The most telling factor that makes Gibb the perfect rugby player actor – he owns a brewery.
